Srinagar: J&K Police have arrested a notorious fraudster and proclaimed offender from Sopore, who had been evading the authorities for several years. The accused, identified as Zubair Ahmad Ganie, also known as Pina and Mansoor Ganie, a resident of Rohama Rafiabad, was wanted in multiple cases of fraud and cheating. He was facing 19 non-bailable warrants issued by various courts across Jammu and Kashmir, including Baramulla, Budgam, Kupwara, Anantnag, Pulwama, Srinagar, and Kulgam.

Police stated that Ganie had also been declared a proclaimed offender in four separate cases by different courts, including the Court of JMIC Dangiwacha. “Despite repeated legal actions, he had successfully remained on the run,” officials said. “With this arrest, Sopore Police have ensured that a long-time absconder and habitual fraudster is finally brought to justice.”

A police statement added, “Sopore Police reiterates that no offender—regardless of how long they evade arrest—can escape the law. Strict action will continue against such individuals to uphold the rule of law and protect the public from fraudulent activities.”
