New Delhi: Delhi police on Monday arrested eight individuals for allegedly demanding Rs 5 crore from a local businessman, claiming to represent the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
According to officials, on September 14, the businessman, who operates in the city’s outer north, received a call from an international number. The caller identified himself as a member of the Bishnoi gang and demanded Rs 5 crore.
Police said a gunshot was also fired during the call as part of the threat.
