JAMMU: Secretary, Rural Development Department (RDD) and Panchayati Raj, Mohammad Aijaz Asad, today chaired a high-level meeting to review the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) across Jammu and Kashmir.

The meeting also focused on the recently approved Special Package under PMAY-G (Awaas Plus) by the Union Ministry of Rural Development. An action plan for the package, which provides 5,061 houses for rehabilitation of households affected by natural calamities, particularly floods, was finalized.

Secretary Aijaz Asad reviewed the beneficiary registration process for this special package and directed officials to promptly complete the identification and uploading of eligible beneficiaries’ details through the Awaas+ 2024 Mobile App, as per the prescribed guidelines.

A detailed assessment of the completion status of both pending and ongoing houses under the broader PMAY-G scheme was also undertaken. Emphasizing the importance of timely execution, the Secretary instructed officers to accelerate all processes to achieve the set targets.

While commending districts that have achieved over 98% completion rates, he urged other districts to replicate this success by addressing bottlenecks and improving their performance metrics. He further directed officers to immediately clear all pending Fund Transfer Orders (FTOs) to ensure beneficiaries receive funds without delay.

The Secretary also mandated the expedited resolution of pending cases and instructed all Assistant Commissioners of Development (ACDs) to submit a beneficiary-wise list of technical issues under IAY in the prescribed format by tomorrow.

The meeting was attended by Director RDD Kashmir, Shabir Hussain Bhat; Director RDD Jammu, Shahnaz Akhter; Joint Director Planning, Kamal Kumar; all ACDs, Block Development Officers (BDOs), and other senior officers of the RDD.
