Apple is gearing up to launch new products in October 2025, but it seems unlikely that we’ll see any new MacBook models announced.
The highly anticipated M5-powered MacBook was expected this year, but reports suggest Apple may delay its release. Many fans were hoping for an October announcement featuring both the new M5 chipset and MacBook models, but according to Bloomberg, the company is not ready to make that move just yet.
Bloomberg’s report indicates that Apple is preparing to begin mass production of the latest MacBook Pro models with the M5 processor. While this schedule differs from previous expectations for 2025, Apple appears willing to wait a little longer before launching the new Macs.
MacBook Pro M5 Launch Delayed to 2026
The report suggests that the M5 MacBook Pro could launch in early 2026, likely around March. Apple’s October launch plans, which have been consistent in recent years, seem to have shifted, possibly to prioritize the rollout of the iPhone 17 and to allow more time for production and marketing of the new MacBooks. This strategy isn’t entirely new; Apple previously launched MacBooks with new M-series chips in January 2023.
The upcoming lineup is expected to include 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with M5, M5 Pro, and M5 Max processors. Design changes are minimal, with the update focusing primarily on hardware improvements for better performance. Apple may also release its first budget-friendly MacBook around the same period.
An OLED MacBook Pro isn’t expected until late 2026 or early 2027. However, the M5 processor itself could still be announced this year, potentially debuting in the new iPad Pro and select Apple smart home devices such as the HomePod Mini, Apple TV, or a second-generation AirTag.
