The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, has announced the call for applications for its annual Sports Awards, which recognize and reward outstanding achievements in the field of sports.
The Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award honors sportspersons for the most spectacular and exceptional performances, while the Arjuna Award celebrates consistent excellence in sports. The Arjuna Award (Lifetime) recognizes individuals for their lifetime contributions to sports development. The Dronacharya Award is presented to coaches who have trained athletes winning medals at major international competitions. Additionally, the Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puraskar (RKPP) acknowledges corporate entities, NGOs, and organizations that have made significant contributions to promoting and developing sports in India. Eligible sportspersons, coaches, and organizations must submit their applications online only through the dedicated portal: www.dbtyas-sports.gov.in. Applicants are required to follow the guidelines specific to each award. The deadline for submissions is 11:59 pm on October 28, 2025.
