GCOE Jammu Hosts Workshop on “Cyber Security Practices” as Part of Sewa Parv Celebrations

JAMMU: As part of the Sewa Parv celebrations, the Government College of Education Jammu organized a one-day workshop on “Cyber Security Practices” on Tuesday.

The event was jointly hosted by the Department of ICT and the college’s website committee. It began with a welcome address by Dr. Shubhra Jamwal, who underscored the increasing significance of cyber awareness in today’s digital world.

College Principal Dr. Jyoti Parihar lauded the ICT department for organizing the insightful workshop, emphasizing the importance of digital literacy and cyber hygiene, particularly for students and educators navigating online learning and digital communication.

The resource person, Dr. Deep Kumar Bangotra, Head of the Department of Computer Applications at Government Degree College, Akhnoor, delivered an engaging presentation on cyber security practices. His talk covered essential topics including online safety, data protection, and responsible digital behavior.

The workshop concluded with the presentation of a memento to Dr. Bangotra by the Principal and senior faculty members as a token of appreciation for his valuable contribution.

The program was successfully organized with the efforts of Anuradha, Deepali Devi, Chanchal Singh, Kiran Thapa, Rupa, and Ramandeep Kralia. Satish K. Sharma, Dr. Sushma Bala, and Dr. Shalini Sharma were also present during the event.
