RAJOURI: Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Rajouri, Rajesh Gupta, conducted an extensive road-checking drive today along the Sunderbani–Bajabain road and the National Highway.
During the operation, the Motor Vehicle Department team, led by the ARTO, inspected approximately 220 vehicles. Nineteen vehicles were issued e-challans, and seven were impounded and handed over to the Sunderbani Police Station for further action.
The drive, carried out under the Motor Vehicles Act and Rules, aimed to enhance road safety, enforce traffic regulations, and curb violations. ARTO Rajouri stressed that such drives would be conducted regularly to maintain discipline on the roads and ensure commuter safety.
