BARAMULLA: As part of Sewa Parv 2025, the Education Department Baramulla organized a Book Donation Drive today at Girls Higher Secondary School, Baramulla, inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Minga Sherpa.
The initiative saw enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, and volunteers, who came forward to donate a substantial number of books. The drive aims to support learners from economically weaker backgrounds and foster a culture of knowledge-sharing within the community. The campaign’s theme, “Donate a Book, Donate a Dream,” reflected this spirit.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner stated that the donated books would be distributed to students from remote areas of the district who cannot afford them. He emphasized that such initiatives are crucial to ensuring that every student, regardless of economic constraints, has access to education.
He further expressed the hope that efforts like this would extend beyond Sewa Parv, becoming a regular practice in the district to create sustainable support systems for underprivileged learners. Appreciating the Education Department’s efforts in organizing the drive, he urged the community—especially youth and volunteers—to actively contribute to such noble causes.
