Mumbai: Actor Varun Dhawan celebrated Durga Ashtami in a heartwarming way this year.
The star welcomed young children into his home for the special puja and shared the festive moments with them.
Taking to Instagram on his birthday, Varun posted a sweet picture with the kids. In the photo, he is seen sitting on the floor with five girls and one boy, enjoying a meal of halwa, chana, and poori together. Alongside the picture, he wrote, “Durga Ashtami ki shubhkamnaye #bestmeal.”
Durga Ashtami, observed on the second-to-last day of Navratri, this year falls just before Navami, with Dussehra scheduled for October 2.
On the professional front, Varun Dhawan is gearing up for his next release, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, hitting theatres this Friday.
The film’s two-minute-and-fifty-four-second trailer opens with Varun Dhawan proposing to Sanya Malhotra, only to be rejected. Determined to win her back, he teams up with Janhvi Kapoor. However, Varun is heartbroken when Sanya announces her engagement to Rohit Saraf, who also happens to be Janhvi’s ex. To disrupt the wedding and reclaim their love interests, Varun and Janhvi pretend to be a couple, aiming to make their exes jealous. But as the plan unfolds, the two unexpectedly start developing feelings for each other.
Directed by Shashank Khaitan, the film is set to release in theatres on October 2.
