ANANTNAG: In a proud achievement for Government Degree College (Women) Anantnag, Iqra Bilal, a first-year student, secured second place in the Division-Level Declamation Contest held on Monday in Srinagar.
The competition was organized as part of the Gandhi Jayanti celebrations, centered on the theme, “The Relevance of Gandhian Philosophy, Particularly Truth and Non-Violence, in Contemporary Times.” Each district of the Kashmir Division was represented by one student, making the event a platform for young participants to critically engage with Gandhiji’s ideals and explore their significance in addressing modern social, ethical, and political challenges.
Iqra Bilal’s performance stood out for its insightful analysis, clarity of expression, and persuasive delivery, earning widespread appreciation from both the jury and audience.
Principal Professor Dr. Masood Ahmad Malik, along with Prof. Farooq Ahmad Malik, Convener of the Debates and Seminars Committee, and the entire teaching and non-teaching staff, congratulated Iqra for her outstanding achievement. They hailed her success as a testament to the college’s commitment to intellectual excellence and holistic student development.
