Pakistan: Karachi hit by 3.2 magnitude earthquake

Karachi: A 3.2-magnitude earthquake was recorded in Karachi, Pakistan, on Wednesday, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), reported Dawn.

The PMD stated that the tremors were felt seven kilometres northwest of Malir at 9:34 a.m. local time, originating at a depth of 10 km within the Earth’s crust.

Previously, on September 16, Pakistan experienced a stronger earthquake measuring 4.5 in magnitude, the National Centre for Seismology (NCS) reported. This quake occurred at a depth of 60 km.

In a post on X, the NCS provided details: “EQ of M: 4.5, On: 16/09/2025 13:34:47 IST, Lat: 31.36 N, Long: 70.28 E, Depth: 60 km, Location: Pakistan.”
