New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday praised the annual Vijayadashmi address of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, describing it as inspiring and highlighting India’s inherent potential to achieve greater glory.

Sharing his thoughts on X, Modi said, “An inspiring address by Param Pujya Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat Ji, highlighting the rich contributions of the RSS to nation-building and emphasizing the innate potential of our land to attain new heights of glory, benefiting the entire world.”

Modi, who was an RSS pracharak before joining the BJP in the 1980s, noted the significance of the speech delivered in Nagpur. In it, Bhagwat emphasized that the strength and character of Hindu society ensure unity and that the notion of “us versus them” has never been part of the community.

He also advocated swadeshi (use of indigenous products) and swavalamban (self-reliance), pointing out that the reactions of other nations following the Pahalgam terror attack reflected the nature and depth of their friendship with India.

Founded on Vijayadashmi in 1925, the RSS is celebrating its centenary year. What began as a small initiative has grown into the country’s most widespread non-governmental organization. The BJP draws significant ideological inspiration from the Hindutva-based organization.
