DC Felicitates Students, Safai Mitras for Contribution to Sewa Parv Campaign
GANDERBAL: The District Administration Ganderbal on Wednesday organized a programme at Clock Tower, Duderhama, to mark Gandhi Jayanti and pay rich tributes to the Father of the Nation.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) extended greetings to the people and recalled Mahatma Gandhi’s enduring legacy of peace, non-violence, simplicity, self-reliance, and cleanliness. The DC appealed to the community to support efforts for a cleaner environment, a drug-free society, and overall public welfare.
The event also featured cultural performances by students highlighting Gandhian philosophy and the collective responsibility of maintaining cleanliness. A felicitation ceremony was held in which students, Safai Mitras, and other participants were awarded certificates of appreciation for their active role in the campaign and service to society.
The celebrations saw enthusiastic participation from students, frontline sanitation workers, and the local community, concluding with a reaffirmation of the district’s resolve to uphold Gandhian ideals and work together for a cleaner, healthier, and inclusive society.
