AHMEDABAD: India finished day two of the opening Test against the West Indies at 448 for five, extending their lead to 286 runs, thanks to centuries from KL Rahul, Dhruv Jurel, and Ravindra Jadeja on Friday.
At stumps, Jadeja (104) and Washington Sundar (9) were at the crease. Jadeja and Jurel had shared a 206-run partnership for the fifth wicket, putting India in a commanding position. The 24-year-old Jurel scored his maiden Test century.
Earlier, KL Rahul had also reached three figures before being dismissed. India began the day on 121 for two and lost captain Shubman Gill (50) in the opening session, while Rahul fell shortly after lunch.
On day one, India had bowled out the West Indies for 162.
