Apple’s First Foldable iPhone Expected in 2026 with Samsung’s Support

Apple is set to launch its first foldable iPhone in 2026, and one of its biggest rivals, Samsung, is expected to play a key role in making it a reality. With years of experience in foldable technology, Samsung is likely to supply critical components for Apple’s new device.

Recently, Samsung Display President Lee Cheong hinted at the development, confirming that the company is working on a foldable OLED display for a major North American client—widely believed to be Apple. While he didn’t explicitly name the brand, the clues align with rumors surrounding the iPhone Fold.

Reports suggest that Apple is testing foldable production in Taiwan and plans to mass-produce the device in India before its 2026 release. The company is also looking to boost overall production by 10%, with the foldable iPhone contributing to that expansion.

The new iPhone Air may offer a glimpse into Apple’s foldable design strategy, showing how the company plans to reduce size, consolidate components, and deliver a high-impact device. Industry observers expect Apple to adopt Samsung’s “book-style” foldable design.

Apple intends to finalize the production process with Taiwanese suppliers before scaling up manufacturing in India. While the device could benefit from this setup, Apple products traditionally come with premium pricing, as seen with the Vision Pro headset and the Watch Ultra.

Despite being late to the foldable trend, Apple is expected to produce a polished, premium device that stands out in the market.
