L’Oréal India reports 22.6% increase in profit, reaching ₹597.5 crore in FY25

New Delhi: L’Oréal India’s profit rose 22.6% to ₹597.54 crore in FY25, while net sales increased 6.25% to ₹5,925.33 crore, according to a Registrar of Companies filing.

The company’s total income, including other income, grew 5.2% to ₹5,979.16 crore for the year ended March 31, 2025. In comparison, L’Oréal India had reported a profit of ₹487.46 crore and revenue from operations of ₹5,576.47 crore in FY24, data from business intelligence platform Tofler showed.

Advertising and promotional expenses fell 3% to ₹1,663.20 crore in FY25, compared with ₹1,714.53 crore the previous year. This included ₹1,321.54 crore on advertising and ₹341.67 crore on sales promotions.

Royalty payments to its French parent, L’Oréal SA, rose 1% to ₹268.07 crore in FY25, up from ₹265.16 crore in FY24. L’Oréal SA owns a 99.99% stake in L’Oréal India.

Total expenses for the year were ₹5,161.91 crore, a 2.8% increase over FY24.

Operating since 1994, L’Oréal India has manufacturing plants in Chakan (Maharashtra) and Baddi (Himachal Pradesh), with research and innovation centers in Mumbai and Bengaluru. As of March 31, 2025, the company employed 1,832 people.

Its portfolio includes 26 brands across multiple channels. Mass-market brands include L’Oréal Paris, Garnier, Maybelline New York, and NYX Professional Makeup, while professional salon brands include L’Oréal Professionnel, Matrix, Kérastase, and Redken.

Selective distribution brands include Kiehl’s, Lancôme, and Yves Saint Laurent, with presence in pharmacy and chemist channels through CeraVe. Fragrances under Ralph Lauren, Armani, Prada, Valentino, Diesel, Viktor & Rolf, Maison Margiela, Mugler, Azzaro, and Guy Laroche are sold via L’Oréal International Distribution.
