Srinagar: An NIA court in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district has issued a proclamation notice against a wanted terrorist involved in multiple terror-related activities, police said on Saturday.

The accused, identified as Zakir Ahmad Ganie, a resident of Mutalhama, is wanted in a case registered under Sections 13, 16, 18B, 20, and 38 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), a police spokesperson said.

The Court of Special Judge (NIA Court), Kulgam, issued the proclamation under Section 84 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNSS), granting Ganie 30 days to surrender before the competent authority. Failure to do so will invite further legal action, the spokesperson added.

Before issuing the proclamation, the court had already released an open-ended non-bailable warrant (NBW) against Ganie. Following the court’s directions, a police team pasted the proclamation notice at Ganie’s residence and other prominent public places in his village to ensure wide publicity and compliance.
