Jammu: The Jammu division of Northern Railway on Sunday announced the fifth phase of resuming rail services, disrupted by record rainfall in the last week of August.

According to Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Uchit Singhal, 22 trains to and from Jammu, Udhampur, and Katra will be reinstated between October 15 and 22.

Over the past 35 days, nearly two dozen trains have already resumed operations. With this latest phase, train services at Jammu Railway Station are approaching normalcy.

“Following the unprecedented rainfall, our teams have worked round the clock to repair damaged tracks, bridges, and other railway infrastructure. Our priority is to restore full rail services as quickly as possible, ensuring minimal inconvenience to passengers,” Singh said.

He also urged passengers to check the status of their trains before starting their journey.

The official added that, in addition to long-distance trains, certain Jammu services will continue to be short-terminated or short-originated as required.
