BARAMULLA: Minister for Agriculture Production, Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Cooperative, and Election Departments, Javid Ahmad Dar, today chaired a review meeting at Dak Bungalow Chijhama with officers from the Horticulture and Agriculture Departments to assess the damage caused by the hailstorm that struck Rafiabad yesterday.
The Minister directed officials to carry out prompt field assessments and prepare a detailed report on the losses suffered by farmers and horticulturists, ensuring timely assistance reaches the affected communities.
During his visit, Minister Dar toured several villages, including the worst-hit areas, to personally evaluate the impact. He engaged with farmers in their orchards, hearing their concerns firsthand, and assured them of full government support to mitigate the losses.
The Minister’s visit underscores the Government’s proactive approach in addressing the challenges faced by farmers and horticulturists, reaffirming its commitment to providing necessary support during times of crisis.
