Srinagar: National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah, 87, was discharged from a hospital here on Sunday after nearly a week of treatment, party leaders confirmed.

“Farooq Sahib has been discharged today and has shown satisfactory recovery,” a senior party leader said.

The former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister was admitted to a private hospital on Tuesday due to an abdominal infection, the leader added. Abdullah, who underwent a kidney transplant in December 2014, required hospitalisation for proper care.
