JMC Conducts Demolition Drive Against Unauthorized Constructions in Jammu
JAMMU: Following directions from Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Dr. Devansh Yadav, and under the supervision of Joint Commissioner (R&E) Subah Mehta and Deputy Commissioner (South) Lal Chand, the JMC enforcement wing today carried out a major demolition drive targeting unauthorized building structures, reinforcing its commitment to lawful and planned urban development in the city.
During the operation, two illegal structures in Upper Jallo Chak–Greater Kailash, Ward No. 68, were demolished for violating building bylaws and regulations. In a separate action, another unauthorized structure was removed in the Bantalab area.
The JMC urged citizens to strictly comply with legal procedures for construction within city limits and to obtain the necessary permissions before starting any building work.
“The Jammu Municipal Corporation is dedicated to maintaining the city’s planned development and will continue taking strict action against unauthorized constructions,” said the Joint Commissioner (R&E). “We seek the cooperation of all residents to ensure safe, sustainable, and organized urban growth for the benefit of the community.”
The Corporation emphasized that such enforcement drives will continue across Jammu to prevent illegal construction and encroachments. The demolition drive was carried out with the full presence of the Enforcement Officer, Enforcement Inspectors, and field staff of the Enforcement Wing.
