MP Ghulam Ali Khatana Reviews Progress of Line Departments in Kupwara

KUPWARA: Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Ali Khatana today chaired a comprehensive review meeting at the District Administration Complex, Kupwara, to assess the performance and achievements of various line departments in the frontier district.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Shrikant Suse; SSP Kupwara, Ghulam Jeelani; and senior officials from key departments including Jal Shakti, Power Development, Health, Education, Rural Development, R&B, PMGSY, BEACON, Forests, and others.

Addressing the officers, MP Khatana emphasized the importance of proactive and people-centric governance, particularly in remote and border areas. He urged officials to view their roles as a means to uplift marginalized communities, with special focus on the poor and underprivileged.

During the departmental review, the MP sought detailed updates on the implementation of government schemes and key performance indicators across developmental and welfare programs. He stressed critical areas including rural sanitation and solid waste management, rationalization of teaching staff in government schools, implementation of the Forest Rights Act, saturation of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, and improving road connectivity in unconnected and inaccessible regions.

MP Khatana assured full support from the Union Government in addressing public grievances and ensuring timely completion of developmental projects. He urged officials to identify and resolve bottlenecks delaying crucial infrastructure work with urgency.

Commending ongoing efforts, he lauded the District Administration, led by the Deputy Commissioner, for its resilience and dedication to service delivery under challenging geographic and climatic conditions. He also appreciated the collaborative efforts of all departments in driving development in this strategically important district.

Reiterating the Centre’s commitment to strengthening last-mile service delivery, MP Khatana pledged to actively facilitate additional support and funding for frontier districts like Kupwara.
