Rajouri Police Arrests One, Seizes Heroin-Like Substance in Salani

Rajouri: In a continued crackdown on narcotics smuggling and abuse, Rajouri Police apprehended a man and recovered a heroin-like substance from his possession in the Salani area.

According to a police spokesperson, a team from Police Station Rajouri was on routine patrolling near the New Bus Stand, Salani, when they noticed a vehicle (registration number CH01BC-2071) parked outside a shop with a person seated in the driver’s seat.

Upon questioning, the individual, identified as Mohd Laqib, son of Mohd Iqbal, resident of Thandikasi, Rajouri, behaved suspiciously. A search led to the recovery of approximately six grams of a heroin-like narcotic substance.

A case under FIR No. 503/2025, registered under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act, has been initiated at Police Station Rajouri, and investigations are ongoing. Authorities are examining the accused’s connections to trace his associates and sources of procurement.

Rajouri Police reiterated its commitment to intensifying efforts against drug trafficking and abuse in the district.
