SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday attached the property of a Pakistan-based terror handler in Budgam district, an official spokesperson said.
The property, measuring 3 kanals and 19 marlas, located in Dasan, Beerwah, was attached after obtaining due approval from the competent authority, the spokesperson added.
The land belongs to Fayaz Ahmad alias Gadda, who had exfiltrated to Pakistan and was found using the property to promote terrorist activities in Kashmir.
During investigation, it was revealed that Ahmad was attempting to sell the land to generate funds for terror financing, the spokesperson said.
Following this, necessary sanction under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) was obtained in connection with FIR No. 56/2019 registered at Chadoora Police Station for formal attachment of the property.
Police said Ahmad is currently based in Pakistan and continues to be actively involved in anti-national activities from across the border.
