India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and pacer Mohammed Siraj have achieved career-best positions in the latest ICC Test Rankings, following India’s dominant win over the West Indies in the opening Test of the World Test Championship series in Ahmedabad.

Jadeja, 36, struck an unbeaten 104 in India’s only innings, climbing to a career-high 25th in the ICC Men’s Test Batting Rankings, surpassing his previous best of 29th achieved in July. His four-wicket haul in the second innings also strengthened his position as the top-ranked all-rounder, extending his lead to 125 points over Bangladesh’s Mehidy Hasan.

Siraj continued his fine form from the England tour, taking 4 for 40 and 3 for 31, which lifted him three places to a career-best 12th in the bowling rankings, crossing the 700-point mark for the first time. India wrapped up the match with a commanding innings and 140-run victory.

Several other Indian players also made significant gains. KL Rahul moved up four spots to 35th, while Dhruv Jurel jumped 20 places to 65th after scoring his maiden Test century. Kuldeep Yadav, who took two cheap wickets, rose seven places to 21st among bowlers.

For the West Indies, it was a tough outing as no batter managed a fifty, and no bowler took more than two wickets.

In the ICC Men’s T20I Rankings, Australia captain Mitchell Marsh re-entered the top 10 in batting for the first time since February 2024, following scores of 85 and an unbeaten 103 against New Zealand. Kiwi batter Tim Robinson made a massive leap of 58 spots to joint-22nd after his unbeaten 106 in the series opener at Mount Maunganui.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh’s 3-0 T20I series sweep over Afghanistan in the UAE saw multiple ranking boosts. Saif Hassan entered the top 20 batters after an unbeaten 64, Tanzid Hasan climbed to 37th, and Parvez Hossain rose to 53rd. Among bowlers, Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan regained the second spot after returns of 4/18 and 2/29, while teammates Noor Ahmad and Mujeeb Ur Rahman advanced to 17th and 23rd, respectively. On Bangladesh’s side, Tanzim Hasan Sakib jumped nine spots to 33rd, Shoriful Islam moved up 21 places to joint-49th, and Nasum Ahmed, the Player of the Series, made a remarkable surge from 131st to 44th.
