Sakeena Itoo inaugurates 100-bedded KGBV Girls’ Hostel at D.H. Pora
KULGAM: Minister for Education, Social Welfare, Health and Medical Education, Sakeena Itoo, today inaugurated a newly constructed 100-bedded Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) Girls’ Hostel at D.H. Pora.
Built by the R&B Department at a cost of ₹2.85 crore, the hostel aims to provide safe and comfortable accommodation for Scheduled Tribe and underprivileged girl students, thereby promoting education and empowerment of young girls in the region.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to strengthening educational infrastructure and emphasized that empowering girls is essential for building a progressive and inclusive future.
Earlier, Sakeena Itoo also laid the foundation stone for additional classrooms at Government High School, Watoo. She noted that the government has undertaken several initiatives and completed numerous projects to enhance the education ecosystem across the district.
