Apple iPhone Fold Expected in 2026 With Sleek, Durable Design Inspired by iPhone Air

Apple’s first foldable iPhone is reportedly set to debut in 2026 alongside the iPhone 18 series, and new leaks are adding to the anticipation. Despite the ongoing success of the iPhone 17 Pro lineup, Apple appears to be focusing on its next big leap — a foldable iPhone that could combine strength, style, and cutting-edge innovation.

According to a new investor note by analyst Jeff Pu, cited by MacRumors, the upcoming iPhone Fold will feature a design influenced by the lightweight and sleek iPhone Air. Pu suggests that Apple will use dual materials — aluminium and titanium — for the phone’s frame to ensure enhanced durability while maintaining a slim profile.

Interestingly, the same materials will reportedly be used in both the iPhone Fold and the next iPhone Air, indicating a shared design philosophy. The titanium build has already proven its strength and resistance to bending in the recently launched iPhone Air, which many believe was Apple’s testing ground for foldable technology.

Pu’s note also hints that Apple might brand the upcoming devices as the iPhone 18 Fold and iPhone 18 Air, suggesting that the company could move away from a standard iPhone 18 model altogether.

iPhone Fold Design and Display Details

The iPhone Fold is expected to feature a book-style foldable design, equipped with a 5.5-inch cover display and a 7.8-inch internal screen. Both panels are rumoured to be OLED Retina displays with ProMotion technology supporting an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate.

When unfolded, the device could measure just 4.6mm thick, and around 9.2mm when folded — making it one of the sleekest foldables in the market.

iPhone Fold Expected Price and Availability

Apple’s first foldable phone is likely to be priced around $1,999 (₹1,75,000 approx), placing it in the same premium category as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold and Google Pixel Fold.

If these reports hold true, 2026 could mark a major milestone for Apple — introducing its most ambitious iPhone yet, blending premium materials, foldable innovation, and signature Apple design precision.
