Srinagar: The National Conference (NC) on Friday announced its nominees for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections, naming Choudhary Muhammad Ramzan, Shammi Oberoi, and Sajad Kichloo as its candidates.
Addressing a press conference, NC General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar said the party has finalized three names and is in discussions with the Congress over the fourth seat.
“We have kept one seat open, and talks are ongoing with the Congress,” Sagar said.
However, NC leaders did not specify whether the party would allocate one of its three relatively secure seats to the Congress or offer a seat where the BJP holds an advantage.
In the current numbers game, the NC-Congress alliance has 24 votes for the fourth seat, while the BJP controls 28 votes.
