Javid Ahmad Dar attends virtual launch of PMDDKY, Self-Reliance in Pulses Mission at Baramulla
BARAMULLA: Minister for Agriculture Production, Rural Development, Panchayati Raj & Election Departments, Javid Ahmad Dar, today attended the virtual launch of the Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana (PMDDKY) and the Self-Reliance in Pulses Mission, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi.
The event was also attended by MLA Baramulla, Javid Hassan Beigh; Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa; heads of various departments; and progressive farmers.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that these landmark initiatives will significantly strengthen the agriculture sector, enhance farmers’ income, and promote sustainable and self-reliant farming practices across Jammu and Kashmir.
The programme aims to boost agricultural productivity, ensure food security, and achieve self-sufficiency in pulse production.
Participants appreciated the Government of India’s sustained commitment to farmers’ welfare, while district officers reaffirmed their resolve to effectively implement these flagship schemes in line with the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
