Four drug peddlers arrested; over 38 grams of heroin seized in Samba & Udhampur

Jammu: Police on Sunday arrested four drug peddlers and seized over 38 grams of heroin in two separate operations in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba and Udhampur districts.

According to a police spokesperson, Mushtaq Hussain and Zafar Shah, both residents of Targain-Budhal village in Rajouri, were arrested near Sarore bus stand in Samba after 30.70 grams of heroin were recovered from their car.

In another incident, two more accused — Irshad and Mohd Arif alias Jugnu — were apprehended during a vehicle check near Birma bridge in Udhampur. Police recovered 8.46 grams of heroin from their possession.

All four individuals have been booked under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and further investigation is underway, the spokesperson added.
