Kupwara: DDC Inspects Jal Jeevan Mission Works at Halmatpora
KUPWARA, Oct 12: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Shrikant Suse today visited Halmatpora to review the progress of works under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM).
The visit focused on the Water Supply Scheme (WSS) aimed at providing Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTCs) to every household in the area. Key components of the project include two borewells with pump rooms, electromechanical equipment for single-stage lift, two reservoirs with a capacity of 30,000 gallons each, and an extensive pipe network comprising both rising main and distribution systems.
Upon completion, the scheme will benefit around 3,746 residents of Pir Mohallah and Sofi Mohallah, ensuring a reliable and safe drinking water supply.
During the inspection, the DDC assessed the ongoing borewell work at Pir Mohallah Halmatpora, Hayhama, and reviewed the pace and quality of the developmental activities.
Local residents also highlighted issues such as the macadamization of roads and repair of the Animal Husbandry building. The DDC gave a patient hearing and assured that the demands would be addressed on priority to meet the area’s developmental requirements.
The DDC was accompanied by officers and officials from the Jal Shakti Department.
