New Delhi: Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi on Monday said that Kabul successfully achieved its objectives during the recent border clash with Pakistan and halted its military action following requests from Gulf nations, including Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

Responding to media queries, the visiting minister stated that Afghanistan had retaliated to Pakistani aggression along the border and had accomplished its goals.

“During the operation, our friendly countries — Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE — urged us to cease hostilities, and we agreed,” Muttaqi said, adding that no major incidents have occurred since then.

He emphasized that Afghanistan views war as no solution to conflicts. “Dialogue and diplomacy are the only ways to resolve disputes. This will continue to be our policy. We want the region’s people to live in peace, prosper, and lead fulfilling lives,” he said.

Muttaqi made the remarks while interacting with reporters on the sidelines of an event organized by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).
