MP Ghulam Ali Khatana Visits Gujjar and Bakerwal Boys Hostel Doda, Interacts with Students and Staff

DODA: Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Ghulam Ali Khatana today visited the Gujjar and Bakerwal Boys Hostel in Doda to assess the facilities and interact with the students and staff.

He was accompanied by District Development Council Chairman Dhananter Singh Kotwal and other senior officials. The MP was warmly received by the hostel warden, staff members, and tribal students.

During his visit, Khatana held an extensive interaction with the students, listening to their experiences, academic goals, and the challenges they face in daily hostel life. The students and staff highlighted several issues, including the shortage of teaching staff, inadequate computer facilities, and the need to upgrade basic infrastructure such as classrooms, study materials, and recreational spaces.

Appreciating the students’ commitment to education despite difficulties, the MP underscored the role of education as the most effective tool for empowerment and upliftment of the Gujjar and Bakerwal community. He reaffirmed the Government’s resolve to promote inclusive growth and ensure equal opportunities for all tribal youth.

Ghulam Ali Khatana assured the students and staff that their genuine concerns and developmental needs would be taken up on priority with the concerned departments.
