Abhishek Bachchan Dedicates First Filmfare Best Actor Win to Aishwarya and Aaradhya

Ahmedabad: Actor Abhishek Bachchan achieved a major milestone in his 25-year cinematic journey, winning his first-ever Best Actor (Male) trophy at the 70th Filmfare Awards 2025 for his performance in I Want To Talk.

Visibly emotional as he took the stage to a standing ovation, Abhishek expressed heartfelt gratitude to his supporters and family. “This year marks 25 years in the industry, and I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve rehearsed this speech. This has been my dream, and I’m deeply humbled. Receiving this award in front of my family makes it all the more special,” he said.

Lightening the mood, he jokingly addressed fellow actor Kartik Aaryan, saying, “Kartik, theher jao tum abhi… tum sambhal jao tab tak,” after noticing him get emotional during the speech.

The most touching moment of the evening came when Abhishek dedicated the award to his wife, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and daughter Aaradhya. “To Aishwarya and Aaradhya — thank you for letting me chase my dreams. Your sacrifices are the reason I stand here today. This film is about a father and daughter, so I dedicate it to my hero, my father, and to my other hero, my daughter,” he said, his voice breaking with emotion.

Directed by Shoojit Sircar, I Want To Talk tells the poignant story of Arjun Sen, a Bengali man pursuing the American dream who discovers he has only 100 days to live. The film explores his emotional journey to reconnect with his estranged seven-year-old daughter.
