Jammu: Western Army commander Lt Gen Manoj Kumar Katiyar on Tuesday said Pakistan lacks the capability to wage a full-scale war with India but may still attempt Pahalgam-style attacks — and that India’s response, dubbed Operation Sindoor 2.0, will be deadlier.
Katiyar told reporters that Pakistan follows a policy of “bleed India through a thousand cuts” and carries out such mischief because it does not want an all-out war. “The action we will take this time will be deadlier than the past. It would be more powerful. Yes, you are very right. It (Operation Sindoor 2.0) has to be deadlier. There is no doubt about it,” he said.
He added that Indian forces had already inflicted heavy damage on Pakistan during the earlier Operation Sindoor, destroying posts and air bases, but warned that similar attacks could be attempted again. “We have to remain prepared. We are fully prepared. I am confident the action this time will be deadlier than in the past,” he said.
Speaking to ex-servicemen earlier, Katiyar appealed for public and veteran support, saying Pakistan lacks the courage to confront India directly but will not abandon its designs — and that the Indian Army stands ready to foil any such attempts.
