Jammu: Emphasizing the courage and sacrifice of the Indian armed forces, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said that Operation Sindoor stands as a testament to India’s resolve to avenge every drop of its citizens’ blood.
He said the operation demonstrated India’s military might to the world, as enemy defence fortifications and airfields were destroyed within minutes of its launch.
“Operation Sindoor sent a clear message to the world that we will avenge every drop of an Indian citizen’s blood. No one can dare look at our country with ill intent,” the Lieutenant Governor asserted.
Sinha paid tributes to the martyrs and honoured ex-servicemen during the Diamond Jubilee celebrations marking India’s victory over Pakistan in the 1965 war. The event was organised by the Western Command and the 26 Infantry Division in Jammu.
Addressing a large gathering of ex-servicemen, the LG said that both the 1965 war victory and the recent Operation Sindoor were outcomes of the unmatched bravery and sacrifice of India’s soldiers, who rank among the finest in the world.
Recalling the sacrifices of the 1965 war heroes, Sinha said, “The land that houses our soldiers—the first line of defence against terror-exporting Pakistan—is sacred.”
He reaffirmed his government’s commitment to the welfare of veterans, saying, “Unwavering devotion to ex-servicemen forms the core of my policies. To me, the land of veterans is like a pilgrimage site. Our veterans have immensely contributed to economic growth, social transformation, and the resurgence of a glorious India.”
The LG also urged ex-servicemen to continue serving society by channeling their leadership and discipline into community and civic initiatives.
“Our ex-servicemen are role models for the youth. They must inspire the younger generation to follow the path of patriotism, discipline, and selfless service,” he added.
