Anantnag: In a major crackdown on the narcotics trade, Anantnag Police have attached immovable properties worth around ₹66 lakh belonging to a notorious father-son duo involved in drug trafficking in Bijbehara.
According to a police spokesperson, properties valued at approximately ₹66 lakh, owned by the duo, were seized in Bijbehara area of Anantnag district.
Police Station Bijbehara had earlier registered FIR No. 167/2025 under Section 8/21 of the NDPS Act against Mohd Saleem Dar alias Sahib Matto, son of Abdul Rasheed Dar of Tulkhan, for his involvement in illegal drug trafficking. During the investigation, it was revealed that his father, Abdul Rasheed Dar, had also been booked earlier in FIR No. 113/2025 under Section 8/20 of the NDPS Act by the same police station.
Investigations further established that the duo had accumulated wealth through proceeds of the narcotics trade and had invested it in immovable assets, including a double-storey residential house and a single-storey commercial complex in Village Tulkhan.
Following due legal process and based on concrete evidence, both properties were attached under Sections 68-E and 68-F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
The police described the action as a major step in their ongoing drive against drug trafficking. The Anantnag Police reiterated their zero-tolerance policy towards drug-related crimes and affirmed their commitment to eliminating the menace from society.
