Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday attached the immovable property of a Pakistan-based terror operative in Reasi district, officials said.

According to police, land measuring over three kanals at Sildhar village, owned by Sharif Mirasi, was attached under Section 25 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). The action is linked to a terror case registered at the Mahore police station under multiple legal provisions.

Mirasi had joined terrorist ranks in 2000 and fled to Pakistan in 2010, where he received arms training and procured weapons to wage war against India, police said. He was initially associated with Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) before aligning with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), actively supporting terrorism in the Union Territory from across the border.

Reasi SSP Paramvir Singh said the move is part of an ongoing strategy to dismantle the logistical, financial, and operational networks of terror groups and their handlers abroad.

“The attachment of property sends a clear message to those involved in or supporting anti-national activities, whether from within the country or from across the border,” Singh stated.
