Budgam: Teacher Arrested for Allegedly Molesting Minor Student
Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested a private school teacher on charges of sexually assaulting and molesting a minor student at a private school in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
According to sources, the incident came to light after the victim’s father lodged a complaint, alleging that his minor child had been sexually assaulted by a teacher at the school located within the jurisdiction of Police Station Beerwah.
A police officer confirmed to Kashmir Dot Com that following the complaint, Beerwah Police registered FIR No. 147/2025 under Sections 5 and 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
“The accused has been taken into custody, and all required medico-legal formalities are being completed,” the officer said.
