SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir government on Thursday announced that the provincial holiday for Urs Sheikh Noor-ud-Din Sahib has been rescheduled from October 18 to October 20.
As per an official order issued by the Commissioner Secretary of the General Administration Department (GAD), the holiday will now be observed on Monday, October 20, instead of Saturday, October 18.
“It is hereby ordered that the provincial holiday (Kashmir Province only) on account of ‘Urs Sheikh Noor-ud-Din Sahib’ shall now be observed on 20.10.2025 (Monday) instead of 18.10.2025 (Saturday),” the order states.
The decision pertains exclusively to the Kashmir Province and follows a revision in the official holiday calendar.
