SMVD University donates over ₹11 lakh to CM’s Flood Relief Fund
JAMMU: Several public delegations and individuals called on Chief Minister Omar Abdullah at his official residence today to discuss a range of developmental and public welfare issues.
During the meeting, a delegation from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) presented a cheque of over ₹11 lakh towards the Chief Minister’s Flood Relief Fund. The amount, contributed by SMVDU employees, was lauded by the Chief Minister, who appreciated their compassion and sense of solidarity.
Raj Kumar Choudhary, Chairperson of the J&K Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission, also met the Chief Minister and discussed matters related to the power sector.





A delegation from IDPS Ghou Manhasan, comprising students and staff, interacted with the Chief Minister on ways to bridge the rural–urban education gap and inspire students towards responsible leadership. The Chief Minister released the school’s newsletter on the occasion and encouraged the students to pursue excellence with dedication and integrity.
Similarly, Dr. Sandeep Gupta, Regional Director of IGNOU Jammu, led a delegation that briefed the Chief Minister about the university’s ongoing programmes on disaster management and their growing significance.
A delegation from Markazi Jama Masjid, Talab Khatikan, Jammu, led by Shahi Imam Mufti Anayatullah, also met the Chief Minister and discussed issues concerning the Jama Masjid and the local Madrassa.
Among others, DDC Member Dansal Shameem Begum, MLA Bani Dr. Rameshwar Singh, and Jammu Province JKNC President Rattan Lal Gupta also called on the Chief Minister and highlighted various developmental and public concerns of their respective areas.
The Chief Minister gave a patient hearing to all delegations and assured that their genuine issues would be duly examined and addressed by the government.
