President of India Honours DC Bandipora for Exemplary Governance Under Adi Karmayogi Abhiyaan

BANDIPORA: In a moment of historic pride for Jammu and Kashmir, District Bandipora has been declared the Best Performing District in India under the prestigious Adi Karmayogi Abhiyaan (AKY) — a national initiative aimed at enhancing governance capacity, efficiency, and transparency.

Recognizing the district’s exceptional on-ground implementation of the programme, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib, was felicitated by the President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, during a national-level ceremony held today.

The award stands as a testament to Bandipora’s innovative, transparent, and citizen-centric approach to governance. Under the leadership of DC Chib, the district administration implemented AKY with remarkable vision — organizing extensive training sessions, conducting awareness drives, and integrating digital governance tools to boost efficiency and accountability.

Expressing gratitude on receiving the national honour, DC Indu Kanwal Chib dedicated the award to her team and the people of Bandipora. “This recognition belongs to every member of Team Bandipora who worked tirelessly to make the Adi Karmayogi Abhiyaan a success,” she said.

The DC also appreciated the efforts of District Nodal Officer Yar Ali Khan, Chief Planning Officer M. Maqbool Lone, the District and Block Mission Teams (DMTs & BMTs), Aadi Saathis, Aadi Sahyogis, and all 17 participating Ministries for their relentless dedication and teamwork.

This national accolade has brought immense pride to Bandipora and the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, firmly placing the district on the national map as a model of excellence in governance and public service delivery.
