LG Manoj Sinha Calls for a World of Kindness, Justice, and Harmony Rooted in Wisdom and Compassion

NEW DELHI: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has called upon the global community to build a world filled with kindness, wisdom, justice, and compassion—free from discrimination and rooted in the collective well-being of all.

Speaking at the Golden Abode of Buddha Shakyamuni Temple in Elista, Republic of Kalmykia, Russia, the Lieutenant Governor addressed revered monks and devotees during the concluding ceremony of the week-long exposition of the Holy Relics of Lord Buddha. The Indian delegation, led by Shri Sinha, departed from Elista today with the sacred relics, which were displayed in Kalmykia from October 11 to 18, 2025. The exposition—organized by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, in collaboration with the International Buddhist Confederation (IBC), National Museum, and Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA)—celebrated the shared Buddhist heritage between India and Russia.

Describing the week-long event as “historic and filled with blessings for devotees and the people of Kalmykia”, the Lieutenant Governor said the exposition strengthened spiritual bonds and deepened people-to-people ties.

“The exposition of the holy relics has deepened our spiritual connection. The mindfulness and devotion it inspired will remain a source of peace, ideals, and inspiration for future generations,” he said.

Calling for the creation of a just and compassionate world, the Lieutenant Governor emphasized:

“We must build a world full of kindness and rooted in wisdom—free from suffering and discrimination. We must create a world where humanity lives in harmony with nature, where moral integrity upholds equality and fairness, and where people support one another’s well-being. I believe the teachings of Lord Buddha will continue to guide humanity on this path.”

Highlighting the significance of the India–Russia cultural and spiritual relationship, Shri Sinha said that this partnership remains among the highest priorities for both nations.

“It is built upon our shared belief in enduring values—peace, spiritual ethos, and compassionate living,” he noted.

Reflecting on Buddha’s universal teachings, the Lieutenant Governor said,

“In today’s fast-paced world, the message of Lord Buddha shines as a beacon of light for humanity. His teachings on compassion, non-violence, and purity of mind can bridge divides and foster universal brotherhood. Spiritual salvation is the greatest treasure attainable by human beings—and this is what India, the land of Lord Buddha, has offered to the world.”

Urging followers to internalize the teachings of the Enlightened One, Shri Sinha added,

“Lord Buddha taught that true spiritual experience cannot be borrowed—it must be lived. Life is a search for truth without desire. As He said, ‘Be a Light unto Yourself’—look within, for the light and pure awareness dwell within you.”

The Lieutenant Governor concluded that while the holy relics return to India, Lord Buddha’s spiritual presence will continue to guide seekers in Kalmykia and beyond, inspiring peace, compassion, and awakening for generations to come.
