New York: US President Donald Trump on Monday extended his greetings on the occasion of Diwali, describing it as a festival that unites families and friends in celebration.
“Today, I send my best wishes to every American celebrating Diwali — the ‘Festival of Lights’,” Trump said in a statement.
“For many Americans, Diwali serves as a timeless reminder of the triumph of light over darkness. It is also a time to gather with loved ones, strengthen community bonds, draw inspiration from hope, and embrace the enduring spirit of renewal,” he said.
“As millions light diyas and lanterns, we are reminded of the eternal truth that good will always prevail over evil. To every American celebrating Diwali, may this festival bring peace, prosperity, hope, and lasting happiness,” Trump added.
