GDC (Women) Anantnag Organizes Cultural Programme to Celebrate India’s Unity in Diversity

ANANTNAG: As part of the ongoing Deepawali celebrations, Government Degree College (Women), Anantnag, in collaboration with the Media Student Association, Haryana, organised a one-day cultural programme titled “Diversity Unites India: A Journey through Cultures” at the college auditorium.

The event aimed to provide a platform for students to showcase their artistic talents while fostering cultural awareness and promoting national integration by uniting people from diverse regions.

Principal Prof. (Dr.) Masood Ahmad Malik, Head of the Debates and Seminars Committee, faculty members, non-teaching staff, representatives of the Media Student Association Haryana, students, and local artists attended the event.

In his inaugural address, Prof. Malik elaborated on the theme, highlighting India’s rich cultural diversity and the historical, pluralistic ethos that have strengthened the nation’s unity for centuries.

The Head of the Debates and Seminars Committee underscored the significance of celebrating India’s vast cultural heritage and the wide range of festivals that embody the country’s diversity.

Speaking on the occasion, the President of the Media Student Association shared insights into the association’s efforts to connect student communities and cultural traditions across different regions of India.

The programme featured a series of captivating performances, including vocal and instrumental music, group dances in classical, folk, and modern styles, and patriotic songs reflecting both Haryanvi and Kashmiri cultural traditions. Students also presented thought-provoking talks on national unity and integrity, emphasizing cooperation and harmony in society.

Participants appreciated the initiative and highlighted the importance of organising such events to celebrate India’s cultural richness and reinforce the spirit of national integration.
