Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Tuesday announced a bounty of PKR 10 crore on the head of banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) commander Kazim, who is suspected of involvement in the recent killing of an army Lieutenant Colonel and a Major.
According to a district administration official, Kazim, a resident of Kurram district, has also been linked to multiple attacks on military convoys en route to Parachinar and on passenger vehicles belonging to the Shia community.
He is further accused of orchestrating an assassination attempt on Kurram Deputy Commissioner Javedullah Mehsud.
Sources said a clear and recent photograph of the wanted militant has been made public for the first time. The unusually high bounty, they added, reflects the provincial government’s determination to ensure Kazim’s arrest or neutralization.
The government has also announced substantial rewards for information leading to the capture of three other militants associated with Kazim.
Meanwhile, in Bannu district, three police personnel were abducted and later rescued in separate incidents over the past three days, triggering concern among local residents.
