Civil Society Delegation from Rajouri Calls on Minister Javed Rana, Seeks Redressal of Key Public Issues
SRINAGAR: A delegation of civil society members from District Rajouri today met the Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment, and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana, at the Civil Secretariat here to discuss several public issues concerning the district.
During the interaction, the delegation raised matters related to development, healthcare, road infrastructure, and public service delivery. The Minister gave a patient hearing to their concerns and assured prompt action through appropriate government channels.
Highlighting the government’s commitment to responsive governance, Javed Rana said that the Omar Abdullah-led administration remains accessible to the people, with a priority to bring governance to the doorsteps of the common masses.
The delegation strongly advocated for the early operationalization of the Maternal & Child Hospital at Gujjar Mandi, Rajouri, stressing the need to improve healthcare facilities, especially for women and children in the Pir Panjal region. They noted that making the hospital functional would greatly enhance access to quality medical care.
The members also drew attention to the deteriorating condition of the Rajouri–Thanna Road, citing the damaged blacktop surface that has made commuting difficult for locals. They urged the Minister to initiate immediate steps for its upgradation and repair.
In response, Javed Rana assured the delegation that the government is already aware of these concerns and that directions have been issued to the concerned departments for early resolution. He also spoke to the Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri, for prompt follow-up on the issues raised.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to the welfare of Rajouri’s residents, the Minister assured continued efforts toward better infrastructure, improved facilities, and overall development in the district.
