Medical Establishments Sealed in Zainapura for Regulatory Violations
SHOPIAN: In a firm action to ensure regulatory compliance and protect public interest, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Zainapura, Bilal Ahmed, on Wednesday led a joint inspection drive with the Drug Control Authorities, Shopian, resulting in the closure of four medical establishments, including a wholesale dealer.
The operation aimed to enforce adherence to the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, and the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, with particular emphasis on maintaining NRx Scheduled H1 records, implementing updated GST labelling, and complying with revised GST rates.
During inspections, officials detected several irregularities, including improper record maintenance, absence of computerized billing, and non-functional CCTV systems, leading to immediate sealing of the violators’ premises.
The SDM and the Drug Control Officer reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining strict regulatory standards in the healthcare sector, warning that similar enforcement actions will continue against defaulters.
Medical establishments across the district have been advised to strictly follow all prescribed norms to safeguard patient welfare and uphold the integrity of the pharmaceutical supply chain.
This enforcement drive followed directions issued by Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Shishir Gupta, during the recent NCORD meeting.
