Jammu: To enhance passenger convenience during the festive season, Automatic Ticket Vending Machines (ATVMs) have been installed at five major railway stations across the Jammu division, officials said on Wednesday.

The ATVMs have been set up at Pathankot Cantonment, Pathankot City, Jammu, Shahid Captain Tushar Mahajan (Udhampur), and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra stations.

According to railway officials, these machines enable passengers to purchase tickets quickly and conveniently without standing in long queues. Equipped with a user-friendly touchscreen interface, the ATVMs make booking unreserved and platform tickets simple and efficient.

The machines support digital payment options, including UPI and other cashless methods, ensuring faster and safer transactions. “Passengers can make cashless payments with ease. Those using Railway Smart Cards will also receive an additional 3% value on every recharge,” an official added.

Available 24×7, the ATVMs offer multi-language support to assist passengers from diverse regions.

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Uchit Singhal said the initiative will help reduce congestion at stations. “Encouraging passengers to use ATVMs will help manage crowds and ensure a safer, more comfortable environment,” he noted.

Indian Railways has urged passengers to take advantage of the new facility for a faster, easier, and more convenient travel experience.
