Observed on the second day of the Shukla Paksha in the Hindu month of Kartika, Bhai Dooj marks the culmination of the festive Diwali celebrations. Across India, the day is celebrated with devotion as sisters apply a ceremonial tilak on their brothers’ foreheads, praying for their health and long life, while brothers offer gifts as expressions of love and gratitude.
